- I am 34 and I live in Birmingham. The man in the picture is Charles Bukowski, my favorite poet. I became interested in poetry when I was 10yrs. old. That was when I read "Where the Sidewalk Ends" by Shell Silverstien. That was also when I began playing guitar and started trying to write songs. I have been interested in poetry ever since.
